Chakdara is not only remembered and famous for cultural, religious, political, social, educational and commercial activities but it is also the heart and fountainhead of Malakand division. Chakdara provides easy and safe routes towards central Asian states. Keeping and access in view its importance the local journalists founded and inaugurated a press club in Chakdara. Its members and active participants started fulfilling their official responsibility since 2002. Mr. Muhammad Jalil became its first President and Mr. Shah Faisal Afghani was made the General Secretary.
The new cabinet of the press club worked held to secure funds and land for the establishment of a well-furnished building. Then the governor and chief executive of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lieutenant General (R) Sayed Iftikhar Hussain Shah not only sanctioned a special grant donation for the establishment of the club but he has also directed local government to provide land for the said purpose, for which we are eternally thankful to the Governor.
DCO Dir (lower) Syed Mohammad Javaid vacated the police personnel from the building and hence a police cantonment was replaced with a press club. The MPA Mr. Dr. Zakir Ullah Khan at that time announced a huge amount for the construction of press club and the new building along with infrastructure was held under the supervision of Mr. Shah Faisal Afghani.
